I was torn between buying the Transcend 16GB SDHC Class 10 or the 32 GB card. The price per gigabyte is similar; the 32 GB card offers a few dollars of savings over the smaller version. In the end I choose to buy the Transcend 32GB Class 10 SDHC card on Amazon for the best pricing. This is out of convenience as I do not want to manage two separate cards.

Note that you need to use a SDHC card reader for downloading pictures to your computer. A standard SD card reader is incompatible with SDHC cards. Even though there are cheaper Class 10 SDHC card for sale, note that they are not created equally. To understand why, you need to realize that not all Class 10 SDHC cards have the same data read and write speed. For a manufacturer to claim its product as Class 10 speed, the SDHC card must have a certified minimum 10MB/s write and read speed. This particular Transcend 32GB Class 10 SDHC card has a 20 MB/s read speed and a 16 MB/s write speed, but is only classified as a Class 10 SDHC card.

But it cost 3 times more than this Transcend SDHC Class 10 32GB card. If you need to take that much photos within a short burst period, then I suppose the price will be well justified. There is nothing more maddening to a photographer than to miss a shot because the shutter release cannot be pressed as your camera is still writing data to the card.
